There IS Free Will and People CAN decide

Hello,

Let us start explaining with a great Anology drawn from a TV Show that brings the Viking Age to Life:

First: As we all know: Vikings had different Gods and the one everyone knows is Thor BUT you may also recall the name: Odin

so in the TV Show scene we are using to start explaing why there IS free will there is a Guy claiming that “Odin made him do it” which was a popular defense for wrong doing in the Viking Age ( medieval Times; some still practice their Culture to x degree )

People would historically often try to explain Things away by blaming the ( made up or not ) Gods for Stuff happening; good or bad ( we all know a bit of history… sure… School… ew right? )

BUT NOW ( very important )

People during the Viking Age who would have stolen, raped and or murdered would sometimes simply claim that: “Odin made them do it” just like in our Times “many” People are still keen to use the “possessed defense” claiming they were possessed by the devil or some kind of demon who would possess their body and commit the wrongdoing…

Other People sometimes go along with it based on the FACT that most People ARE bad and are simply trying to lay grounds for when they wanne get away with heinous crimes… ( we all no how it goes )

SO: back to our Viking TV Show Scene:

In this Scene some Guy who did wrong claims it was Odin who made him do it and the damaged Party would obviously not accept that obvious bullshit defense and smack someone in the Face saying: “Hey, i also didnt do anything… Odin made me do it” trying to show / explain that you cannot simply claim something, excusing yourself of the heinous Acts

AND THEN

“The Earl” who was some kind of Judge / Village Elder being the literal Judge of the village would then say:

“Alright, alright” acknowledging that you can’t just claim that “Odin made you do it” and that you cannot abuse this System ( of the Time ) and do what ever you want followed by saying “Odin made me do it”

SO: the judge ( village elder ) would simply confirm that it’s a bullshit defense and acting like a truely fair judge dismissing the… bullshit defense

Now what does this have to do with having free will ???

In a way it very much proves the argument that People can decide to do wrong and simply could also DECIDE to NOT do wrong because:

They aren’t animals…

and animals who simply are animals, lacking any deeper conscious / greater / developed mind ( making it possible to make a conscious decision )

…are just animals and simply put: act like… animals… going about their day looking for food, a mate or maybe trying to find new hunting grounds…

and the difference to humans and half-animals IS:

Humans and Half-Animals ( People ) have the Power to decide what to do because they damn well know the outcome having the informations and basically: the ability to run->decide on a course with being fully aware of the outcome / consequences or potential outcome and thus having the ability to influence it and again: unlike an Animal who is just driven by instinct they:

Think and Act and NOT just live away like animals do ( for the lack of a better description ) but DO make plans, DO make decisions and CAN decide to do certain Things or NOT do certain Things AND

…trying to downplay their Actions only proves that AND

...trying to explain their wrong doings away by claiming Stuff like “well i was bored”

…also just proves it BECAUSE

they of course could have decided not to or to do X or Y and cannot just claim “Odin made me do it” or “Stimuli is necessary for the brain; just like when your hungry it’s okay to kill an Animal”

That is obviously bullshit and everybody knows that you are either: Hunting for food fair and square with an actual need or you are: bullshitting around / lying… JUST LIKE

…a rapist claiming: “What were they supposed to do?”

-> We all damn well know that’s bs and that it’s NOT an excuse…

But back to topic:

Some smarter Evil would go so far trying to downplay / explain it away / blame it one something / someone else ( why the Need ? 😉 ) by pulling their ultimate “Odin made me do it”-move… saying…

“Well then it’s just a chain reaction of chemicals and i was simply unlucky having this “chemical reaction end result”” AND HERE lies the bullshit and intentional self-deciption / downplaying / “Explaining away” ( again: why the need ? 😉 )

BECAUSE once again: The chemical chain reaction of everything lead to / a person / an Half-Animal being NOT AN ANIMAL but a “one” a “person” a “half-animal” HAVING the ability to decide !

…and many DECIDED to be “lazy and crazy” and “just take Things” ( a Thief ) which is of course understandable / explainable BUT NOT excusable BECAUSE

They could have done it differently but DECIDED to go about it “lazy and crazy” ->BAD

and again: Why the need to downplay or explain it away or simply why the whole:

“Odin made me do it” -bit ?

For tactical reason to not get proscecuted ? Sure ( understandable / explainable ) BUT again:

They DECIDED on the bad Path and WHY do they need to downplay it all the Time ?

-> because it was a mistake and now they are bitter, unhappy and WISH they would have CHOSEN not do “do x bad Thing” because IT DOES -> fuck em up in the End rendering their Lives Shit and thus it actually is also a bad tactical decision but as they say:

“You made your bed now lay in it” and again: It CANNOT be excused by “They didn’t know or just were bored or kinda hungry or something like that” and even Children who are often simply closer to Animals… developing the ability ( fully aware )

and btw: what do kids actually do ? -> They don’t even get a full pass when e.g. throwing snowballs on passing cars or simply put: it already starts in Elementary that People know when they are doing something bad / REALLY are doing something ( bad )

It is as they say: Kids just being Kids is one Thing but if someone does something bad THEY did something bad and there is NO excuse for it and they DID HAVE the option to decide not to do it and if there was no need to do it for survival reasons rendering it legit…

then there simply was none AND lying about it won’t help because THEY OBVIOUSLY KNOW that it’s just downplaying / an excuse… that ain’t an excuse or:

-> “Odin made me do it” -bullshit

AND AGAIN: Why the need to explain it all away ?

AND: Why do People heavily try to pin it on something or maybe ultimately claiming BULLSHIT like “There is no Free Will”… ?

AND: Why do most People hate the truth so much ?

AND: Why do they try to discredit People speaking the truth and trying to make them look crazy ?
